Patient Testimonials
I have been going to Joint Effort for a number of years to have post surgery rehab services. Specifically I have had total replacement surgery of one knee & both shoulders. I have found over the months of rehab from these surgeries Joint Effort to be encouraging, knowledgeable, professional & good-humored in their treatments. I actually enjoyed my time with my physical therapists & discovered that doing my home exercises as requested greatly shortened my rehab. I have been to them for other conditions, most recently for lower back pain, and once again the experience was successful & enjoyable!

Best Physical Therapists in Colorado Springs, bar none. Kevin and his whole team run an efficient operation and most importantly they get patients better. They helped me overcome severe lower back pain and were amazing.

After being told I would have to live with knee pain, I am pain free!
Ten months after total knee replacement surgery 7/2019 and two cortisone shots later my knee still hurt like mad. I didn’t know what to do. The doctor indicated I was going to have to live with the pain or have him scope my knee to see what the problem was. Then the idea of Physical Therapy came to my mind. After just 4 visits, I have gained 15 degrees of bend in my knee, the intermittent pain on a daily basis is gone and the pain going up and down stairs is gone. There must be more people like me out there that never fully recover after total knee replacement. You don’t have to live with that pain. Give Physical Therapy a try and I recommend Kevin Hyland at Joint Effort.

We highly recommend Kevin and Joint Effort!
My daughter plays competitive volleyball. During last club season, she had issues with her shoulder that affected her serving and setting. We talked to Kevin and after an evaluation he suggested dry needling. She had 2 sessions with Kevin, which resulted in her being totally pain free. Early in this high school season she injured her hip and missed 4 matches. When it did not improve after treatment from the school trainer, we again contacted Kevin and after two sessions she improved to where she was able to practice and play within a week. Our only regret was not contacting him sooner. The only downside to Joint Effort is that we live in Littleton and had to drive 1.5 hours for treatment, but it was definitely worth it. We highly recommend Kevin and Joint Effort!

Great environment for recovery!
I have been coming to Joint Effort Rehab for many years. My family doctor referred me around 1990 or 2000 for therapy on my hand. Sometime mid-2000 I was referred for knee therapy. In 2012, I had shoulder surgery. When I went back to the surgeon for a follow-up, he had a physical therapist waiting for me. I informed him; I would only go to Joint Effort. In 2017 and 2018 I had shoulder surgery again. I told the surgeon where I was willing to go. My surgeons have been pleased with the therapy that I have received at Joint Effort. I like to come here because its small– not a gym environment. Some of the therapists are still here from the first time I came. Whatever your needs are, there will be a therapist trained to meet those needs. I have been here often enough that when therapy is needed. I look forward to coming to Joint Effort. All the people that work here are very kind, professional, and well trained. I highly recommend Joint Effort. Enjoy your therapy!!!

I'm progressing much faster than before and feeling less pain in the process.
Outstanding people to work with! I had arthroscopic surgery on my left shoulder a couple of years ago and did my rehab via the surgery center. It was effective, but focused just on range of motion. For my right shoulder, I chose Joint Effort as my wife was doing her full knee rehabilitation with Joint Effort (she is quite happy as well). The level of attention, and week-to-week modifications, have been well above my prior experience. Skyler and team have taken a much more holistic approach to my recovery and treatment needs; at times working on secondary issues that are impacting my recovery. I’m progressing much faster than before and feeling less pain in the process. Great team to work with!

10 stars!!
If you are looking to be treated for your physical therapy needs by the best of the best physical therapists in Southern Colorado, look no further than Kevin Hyland at Joint Effort Physical Therapy. True, I went to Kevin to rehabilitate my knee after a total knee replacement, but I arrived at his office with a whole complex series of back, hip and leg issues. Kevin took the time to understand my full range of issues. As a result, not only has my knee rehabilitation exceeded all expectations, but all of my other issues have seen very substantial improvement. Thanks to Kevin, I have been able to resume a full, active lifestyle. Where did all that pain go? On top of all of that, Kevin is as affable and genuinely positive person. He sincerely wants to help his therapy patients achieve maximum improvement. There are only five stars above, but I would give him ten if I could.

I highly recommend Joint Effort if you need any kind of Physical Therapy.
This office is awesome. It is honestly a fun place to go. The atmosphere is relaxed even while they are doing their best to help you. They practice very thorough sanitation and treat COVID rules seriously. Due to a myriad of knee surgeries, I have been going to Joint Effort for therapy. They have helped me get back to as close to normal as quickly as I can before the next surgery. Working with Skyler, Kevin, Wyatt and the rest of the crew has enabled me to strengthen my knee as much as I could so they next surgery isn’t as difficult to recover from. Now, with my last surgery a month ago, I am up and walking and about 90% recovered. I will be dancing and skiing soon, and I can’t wait. (Others might not want to see me dance though.) I highly recommend Joint Effort if you need any kind of Physical Therapy.

They helped to improve my quality of life!
I am a disabled Army veteran, and I am 28 years old. I have a brain disorder called Arnold Chiari Malformation and had decompression surgery in 2016. I have experienced very poor physical therapy appointments while in the military. I was very wary of giving this place a try, but I am so glad I did. I started off with visits for my Fibromyalgia and Skyler Harms is my physical therapist. I found out I needed hip surgery and went to Skyler after my surgery. I was in therapy for 11 months due to my brain malformation. It took me a little bit longer than the average patient to feel okay again. But I am so glad I listened to Skyler. He really helped me pace myself and not overdo it. Skyler is very patient but knows when to push me. Because of him I am hiking again and able to conquer most of my days. And now I know how much to push myself, so I am not in pain. Now Skyler is helping me with extreme neck pain from my brain surgery. We just started but I am confident that Skyler and everyone else at Joint Effort will have me feeling better in a few months. My health problems never fully go away due to the brain malformation. But I can definitely say Joint Effort has improved my quality of life and made me motivated to work out again after so many surgeries. I thank them all the time, but it really does mean the world to me that I can go somewhere where I feel safe and supported.

I have seen great results! Thank you!
Joint Effort is absolutely incredible. I started coming here paying for treatment out of pocket. Treatment was extremely affordable and very effective. Now, luckily, my visits are covered by insurance, and I get treated amazingly. All of the billing and all the paperwork is handled seamlessly by Joint Effort. The staff is outstanding, and I’ll keep going here for the foreseeable future. Kevin has an awesome sense of humor, has an impeccable work ethic, and does everything in his power to give patients the best outcome available. I have seen great results and despite significant trauma to my body, Kevin and the rest of the team has done a great job at working towards fixing what years of other treatments have failed to do. Thank you!

I recommend Joint Effort without hesitation and would gladly return to them if I need physical therapy in the future.
My experience with Joint Effort was great. My work situation made seeing them difficult, but they went above and beyond to be able to accommodate my situation and I worked with their staff at their north and south locations. Their coordinated effort at both locations helped me recover quickly after my shoulder surgery and I am feeling better than I did before my surgery. My job requires movements that most people do not have to make, and most physical therapists have not had to work with patients that need these requirements. The staff worked with me to understand what goals I needed to achieve and came up with some innovative exercises to get me to where I needed to be in order to return to work. I recommend Joint Effort without hesitation and would gladly return to them if I need physical therapy in the future.

I don't know what I would have done without them!
I am a 75-year-old female and I have been a patient of Debbie Edwards at Joint Effort Rehab for the last 10 years. My first visit was for rehab following a broken wrist after falling down a flight of stairs. After her wonderful help in recovering from that incident, sometime later it was discovered that I had stage 4 metastatic melanoma for which I had multiple surgeries and then physical therapy to recover my strength from each one. I am so appreciative of Debbie and the entire staff at Joint Effort for always being there for both my physical and even my mental well-being. I am now recovering from sepsis following a neck surgery last year. The progress is very slow but as always Debbie, Emily and the entire staff are patiently and cheerfully bringing me back to normal. I don’t know what I would have done without them!

REMARKABLY OUTSTANDING. Relegated to “yipping” in shoulder pain, my Orthopedic doctor ordered an MRI and informed me that there is nothing else that could be done for me except replace the left shoulder.
That being the case I attended one of Kevin’s shoulder seminars and was astounded when he asked a room of about 30 people “..how many of you have had shoulder surgery?…” – nearly everyone raised their hand. Then Kevin asked how many of you are satisfied with your shoulder surgery – NONE! Raised their hand.
In a personal appointment with Kevin I was skeptical when he told me he thought he could be a great help relieving me of the pain but that he could not do much about the structural damage. I signed up but remained skeptical. Early-on disappointed that it was taking a lot of time to resolve the pain, I would inform that week-to-week I didn’t feel much progress but that over a course of about three weeks I could definitely tell the shoulder was getting better.
As time and therapy continued I could feel the pain going away – and now I can make all kinds of painless movements with the shoulder.
The entire staff at Joint Effort Physical Therapy is hands-on and very attentive to the overall safety/well-being of the patient. They are obsessed with knowing what the joint feels like as various movements are going on – sometimes resulting in immediate adjustments to different techniques to achieve the desire result.
Now as a patient I know for certain that Joint Effort Physical Therapy is an extraordinarily outstanding clinic and I don’t believe I am ever going to need to replace my damaged shoulder.
